I have spent hundreds of hours over the course of nine years working with the full band during the school day and individuals in pull-out assessments, both during and before and after school. I assisted the 6th grade band while travelling through planning travel details, repairing equipment on the road, and maintaining a safe environment. I also assisted in writing warm-up and summer camp starting materials, and I assisted with repertoire selection as well.
I have also served as a clinician at their lock-in called Begin-a-thon on multiple occasions (pictured above), serving as a full-band clinician and a clarinet and saxophone masterclass, sectional, and solo clinician.
I have worked with the 7th and 8th grade summer camp on multiple occasions, serving as a guest director and woodwind clinician. The camp keeps students engaged with fun music over the summer so they are still in shape for band when they come back to school.
In 2017, I taught all clarinet masterclasses, sectionals, and private lessons during the six-day camp for both the Junior and Senior High sections. I also sat in on both groups' full band rehearsals to help individuals in need and performed alongside the students at their concerts as a model. I rewrote parts to accommodate students' unique needs and to ensure they found success while at camp.
I taught middle and high school combined Sunday School for a semester while at the Macomb Wesley United Methodist Church. I both co-taught and individually taught these classes, keeping topics at an appropriate level for the middle school students while still challenging the high school students.
