I was selected by the Centennial Honors College through an interview process as their sole student speaker for their fall 2020 graduation ceremony.
I completed both the General Honors and the Honors in the Major programs, which combined grants me the honor of University Honors. Throughout the program I took several honors-level classes and completed several honors projects.
I competed in the WIU Concerto Competition and was the only wind player to win that year. I went on to perform the Copland Clarinet Concerto with the orchestra in 2019.
Each semester, the faculty in each college choose from the department scholars one student to be the college's scholar.
Each semester, the faculty in each department at WIU select an outstanding senior as their department scholar.
I graduated with a 4.0/4.0 GPA after completing 173 credit hours.
This award "recognizes superior musicianship, dependability, loyalty, and cooperation" (sousamusic.com) and is awarded to one, or rarely two, high school seniors in band.
This is the nation's oldest and most selective honor society. I am a lifetime member.
This is the world's largest international honor society. I am a lifetime member.
